- “Update on Recent FASB Projects of Interest to the Construction Industry, Sureties, and Auditors: Developments on the Controversial Revenue Recognition Proposal, Final Action on Multiemployer Defined Benefit Pension Plan Disclosures, and Private Company Financial Reporting Procedural Developments at FASB” The NASBP membership can download this audio recording for free! This Virtual Seminar provides the updates on FASB proposals on revenue recognition, multiemployer pension plans and private company financial reporting developments. Presenters explain the details of these FASB projects and what they think the final proposals will likely include as well as the effect these final proposals will have on the construction and surety industries. The presenters are FASB Project Manager Kenny Bement, FASB Practice Fellow Kevin Catalano, FASB Practice Fellow and Project Manager Bill Hildebrand, Assistant Vice President/Underwriting Officer David Lomax of Liberty Mutual Surety, and General Counsel John McNerney of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America. Senior Vice President Patrick Pribyl of Lockton Companies moderated the seminar.
- “Technology: A Way To Increase Sales and Efficiency” This NASBP Virtual Seminar describes how technology can enhance professional relationships and business functions in our industry. Presenters include Deborah Burton of Wells Fargo Insurance Services of Kentucky and Nick Newton of Rudnik Surety. Newton, the chairman of the NASBP Automation and Technology Committee, and Burton, the committee’s vice chairwoman, lead the discussion on those aspects of technology that help surety professionals become more productive, accurate and efficient, and how technology can in many ways strengthen our relationship with customers.
