NASBP is pleased that, at a time when meeting in-person was not an option, the Association kept the NASBP membership connected and offered important industry content through the NASBP Virtual Events.  A brief description of the 2020 NASBP Virtual Events is below. A more detailed description, a list of sponsors, and photos of the presenters of these four NASBP Virtual Events can be found at the recent NASBP Blog post.

Revisit the first NASBP Virtual Event: Bonding with Bandwidth, held in May, for a look back at the announcement of the NASBP 2020-2021 Board of Directors, the presentation of surety industry awards, an electronic bonding discussion, and a primer on the False Claims Act.

The July NASBP Virtual Event: Being Present and Connecting Surety in a Digital World gave us a closer look at the brand-new NASBP Producer Communications Toolkit 2.0 and a timely keynote presentation “Presence in Chaos” offering guidance in how to build resilience in the face of challenges and to be present with clients, colleagues, and family.

September’s NASBP Virtual Event: Preparing for the Future Nationally and Regionally gave an opportunity for regional breakout sessions, which were preceded by two keynote sessions. The first keynote provided an informative look at business bankruptcies and what surety professionals need to know. The second keynote provided an economic forecast that took into consideration the elections, COVID-19, and more.

The most recent event, November NASBP Virtual Event: Managing Stress and What’s Next! offered an informative post-election wrap-up by construction industry lobbyists, which was organized by NASBP Directors-At-Large. That keynote was followed by one that offered tips on how to live a well-adjusted life during these stressful times, which was developed by the NASBP 5-15 Leadership Committee.
